Welcome to our Environment and Ecology home page
As the pre-eminent publisher of environment and ecology titles, Edward Elgar Publishing has a broad and prestigious list spanning a range of social science disciplines. We seek to publish the very best environmental research from around the world, maintaining the high quality and international scope of our extensive list. Our monograph program includes cutting-edge publications in environmental and ecological economics, law, management and innovation, regulation and policy, sociology and politics, focusing on key areas such as climate change, energy, natural resource use, transport, valuation and cost benefit analysis. Our original reference series comprises comprehensive Handbooks and Companions providing scholars and students with invaluable tools for research and teaching and our Research Collections gather the most important articles on critical environmental issues. Our textbook list offers a unique resource for classroom adoption. Our New Horizons in Environmental Economics series is the largest of its kind with over 140 titles currently in print and our Advances in Ecological Economics series, New Horizons in Environmental and Energy Law series and The FEEM Series on Economics, the Environment and Sustainable Development consistently generate high quality works. In addition, we have recently launched the 'Journal of Human Rights and the Environment', which will provide a strategic academic forum through which research at the forefront of this multidisciplinary field will be presented. We are proud to count among our authors and editors such luminaries as Ian J. Bateman, John A. List, Jeroen van den Bergh, James Meadowcroft and Wallace E. Oates to name but a few. We host book displays at a large number of conferences annually, including the European Association of Environmental and Resources Economics, the European Society of Ecological Economics, the Human Dimensions of Global Environmental Change as well as their international counterparts. We also attend a range or smaller, more specialist conferences that focus on particular facets of our publishing program.
